I-4 crash leaves two people in critical condition • Taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center • ORMC • Roll-over • NO SEAT BELTS

ORANGE COUNTY – Two people were in critical condition Sunday morning after the driver of a pick-up truck lost control on Interstate 4 and crashed into the concrete barrier. The crash shut down Interstate 4 for a few hours and sent both the driver of the vehicle and a passenger to the hospital.

Witnesses told police that the driver of the pick-up truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when he approached the South Street overpass on Interstate 4 at about 1:10 a.m. Sunday. The driver apparently lost control of the truck he was driving and went into the other lane, striking another vehicle before he hit the concrete barrier wall, Orlando Police said. The truck rolled several times, ejecting both the driver and the passenger in the truck.

They were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) with critical injuries. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were not injured, police said.
