FHP Reports • Valrico woman hit by car • killed while crossing S.R. 60 • Eastern Hillsborough County

A 21-year-old woman was struck and killed while trying to cross State Road 60 early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The pedestrian of Valrico was trying to cross the eastbound lanes of S.R. 60 from the center grass median when she was hit by a man driving a Dodge Dakota pickup truck about 2 a.m. today, the patrol said.

The driver of the vehicle also of Valrico was driving in the center lane east of Valrico Road when his car hit the pedestrian, who died at the scene, the accident report said.

No charges have been filed, but the highway patrol is continuing to investigate the accident.
